Updated: Would you take your DC to the dr. if they had a really bad runny nose for over a week?
Molly has had a pretty bad runny nose for a week now. Last week, she had a very low-grade fever one day but that was it. She has been a bit cranky at times but nothing else. Should I bring her in for a sick visit?
Updated: Thank you to all. My poor baby has an ear infection. Poor baby has barely complained and hasn't run a fever. She is quite a little trooper.

Is she sleeping ok?? The low grade fever may be a sign of an ear infection

Our ped said boogie colors have nothing to do whether or not there's an infection-Old wives tale :) i've been to the doc for green/yellow boogies and if no other symptoms, my doc would either say a cold that trying to run it's course or teething, especially since no fever.
HOpe she dries up soon though! COol mist humidifier and a bit of benadryl always do wonders of my runny nose girls
I would def put a call in the doc if it were my girls just to be safe and make me feel better.

I normally won't take her to the Ped. but it's been a week and no improvement whatsoever so I rather be safe then sorry.

Def take her in, it will make you feel better to hear it's nothing. I've done it many times myself.
Are her molars coming in? Gianna got really bad running goopy nose when her 1 year molars where trying to come up. That's how i actually know now when she's teething the big teeth. I hope molly feels better soon

When Matty gets a runny nose, he always gets an ear infection- so I bring him in.

Ds has had a runny nose for a week and I odn't plan on taking him in. It started out very runny, then got less, then got more again, and is now less- but still running. He doesn't seem bothered by it and there's nothing else wrong, so I don't see the need.

Re: Would you take your DC to the dr. if they had a really bad runny nose for over a week?
When I spoke to the ped about dd's cold she said that it could take a week to ten days to go away, so I might wait a little bit longer. And the low grade fever could be teething.
However, I am a BIG believer in mommy instinct and if it is really worrying you, I would go in. You don't strike me as the type to over worry and analyze everything. Maybe give them a call and see what they think?
I think that I would be more nervous about what she might pick up at the drs with so much going around right now

My ped told me it did not matter if it was clear or green.
He told me to watch for fever, not eating/sleeping, change in his mood, etc...

I would take your dc to dr if the cold is keeping them from sleeping and if the boggies aren't clear.

Mine has always told me to watch for the color of the boogies, along with all the other symptons. If it's clear, then it can be allergies or a runny nose due to teething. if it's colored and thicker, then it's probably a cold or an infection.
