Update......slowly getting there
Saw the Dr yesterday and I am now 2cm dialated, still 100% effaced and his head is at 0 - +1 station She laughed and said she couldn't believe how low he is . I'm starting to get REALLY nervous!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
What can I do to get the dialation moving????? We went for a short walk last night (could only go about 3 blocks b/c once I start walking I have to go to the bathroom ) . I asked if I could have sex and she said of course but DH might be freaked out by how low the head is DH said HE!! NO
Dumb question: Is it bad that his head is sitting so low for so long(I guess it's in my pelvic area)...will he have a deformed head? (I forgot to ask)

Re: Update......slowly getting there
I don't know if it is bad that the head is sitting so low, but I do know that there are 5 flexible plates in the babies head, so sometimes they do come out a little bent, but they will go back into place. I dont' know if that's any of a comfort for yuo.
My lamaze instructor swears by doing "squats" to spead up the going into labor process. She warned us not to do it before 2 weeks before we're due because we could go into early labor.
Basically just bend at the knees, hold onto a table, chair, whatever, and bounce a bit at the knees. You don't have to go all the way down, just as much as is comfortable. bounce 10 times, then get up again and repeat. She said about 3-5 sets of 10 of these a day should get our delivery moving.
Worth a try, right?

Re: Update......slowly getting there
The further the baby gets "down" the more you dialate because the babys head is right there as the cervix dialates even more.
My friend nicole swears by nipple tweaking. lol. she has 2 kids, and made her mom (her labor coach) tweak her nipples endlessly before she went into labor to speed things up.

Re: Update......slowly getting there
Hey Betty, any luck? I did squats at any time possible yesterday and I can tell you that I feel different today, LOTS more pressure, maybe it's working, gotta try it Betty!!! My kids thought I was nuts yesterday, they hadn't seen me exercise in 9 months and then all of a sudden Mom's working out again, right when the baby is due?!

I know, I'm crazy
emilain: I did a few yesterday but I knew DH would be home late so I was afraid. Today he comes home around 3:30 so I'll be squatting all day Good Luck
