Upset about tripadvisor.com
im posting this here for more replies-
i want to go to an all inclusive in august-in the riviera maya-my top choice is the riu palace riviera maya-but i keep seeing bad review about it-can anyone offer their opinion?
or recommend another all inclusive there?

I would take tripadvisor w/ a grain of salt...it is much easier to go to a website like that if you have something to complain about (or just like to complain overall) rather than had a great time. I've visited many places w/ some bad reviews and had an amazing time.
BTW, We went to Aventura Spa Palace all - inclusive for our HM and LOVED it

My brother & FSIL are going to Secrets Capri Riviera Cancun All Inclusive for their honeymoon in July. They both work with a couple people who have gone and they all said it was great.

the cabo RIU had a few bad reviews on there also
and I loved it- and I think I am pretty hard to please
my good friend went to the one in cancun and loved it (MrsPorkChops sister)
so take every thing on there with a gain of salt- there was not 1 place I could find with all perfect reviews!

a former co-worker of mine went there and said it was the best vacation she ever had. I saw her pics and the place looks AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!

We went to the Aventura Spa Palace for our HM as well... there is a review on my LIW Review... It was beautiful and very nice... only disappointment was the "Fake" beach...

We're staying at Excellence Riviera Cancun in June, and it's in the Maya Riviera.
I believe Conigs went here for her HM.
I would say 98% of the reviews were great, with a few complainers...but I expect no matter where you go.
As for other reviews, why don't you check out the comments on expedia, hotels.com, and orbitz?

I've realized that I can't take everything seriously that I read on tripadvisor. Everyone has different tastes, and you have no idea who these comments are coming from. From all you know, they could be from owners of competing resorts!

I always work myself up after reading reviews on tripadvisor. I hate reading bad reviews about places I have my heart set on! However, for every terrible review, there is always a glowing one just a scroll away! I've always found that I've loved the places I've gone, even if it had some negative reviews. I think some people on there are just very picky

I seriously think that other resorts make up fake names and post awful reviews on there. I hate going on that site because it alwasy makes me nuts.

PALACE Resorts- AVenture Spa Palace
We went here on our honeymoon and HIGHLY recommend it... also w/ palace resorts you can visit any of their other palace resorts and it's all inclusive at all of them. FM me if you have any questions...

Read all of the reviews then make your own judgement. We stayed in a condo resort in Daytona Beach (of course the name escapes me) and everyone on tripadvisor complained about waiting 15 mins for an elevator. I had a great time in the elevator, I rode with David Stremme, The Mobil #12 Pit Crew, Scott Riggs, etc.. The longest I waited was 5 mins on the morning of the Daytona 500, I did not mind beacuase the people in the elevator were so friendly and excited!
