The most pathetic part of this article is this:
“American publishers will face direct harm, because our markets will be open to a flood of copyrighted material that was intended for purchase overseas. By exploiting pricing models that are meant for students in undeveloped nations, importers both deny those students a full education, and threaten American publishers’ ability to do business abroad.”

Right because as Americans, we should always pay top dollar for everything from our software to books to pharmaceuticals.

Americans subsidize the rest of the world for so many products (drugs, textbooks, etc). The manufacturer wants to recoup costs so instead of spreading the cost basis to a world wide market the theory is to charge inflated prices here to subsidize 3rd world countries who might otherwise not have access to the products. Why not make the prices equal (and by equal I don't mean raising it for everyone, but enough to absorb costs). It is unfortunate for those individuals who cannot afford items but what about taking care of Americans who cannot afford these same items. I am very happy with the decision and feel that the Court made the right call.

Me too.

It's funny because even regions pay different prices. I remember seeing a catalog from a different area & was shocked that the prices were lower.
