using the pill to skip period?

Has anyone done this. I am thinking about doing it to work around an upcoming vacation....
Im just looking for advice as far as if you had any side effects.

i have done this in the past and was fine - i dont remember having any side effects from it - sorry its been a long time since ive done it so i cant be more specific

I've done it in the past as well. I tried to do it as as early as possible before the event - like my honeymoon. I changed it a few months before so that my the time my honemoon came around, I had just finished my period before I got married. I took an extra week of the third pill. I don't remember any side effects.
At one point I also was using it to only get my period every 6 weeks, but then PMS got worse so I just went back to every 4 weeks.

i have done this many times. my OB told me there was no danger in not having a period, and it was fine to skip the placebos.

they actually make a BC pill now designed so that you only have a period 4 times a year.
