Uterine Mapping & Biopsy
My RE sched me for a uterine mapping & biopsy before I have my FET in Aug. my 1st question is- does it hurt? Also, do all REs do this? Supposedly it helps with where to place the embryo during transfer.

Never heard of a mapping. But I did have my very first biopsy about 3 months ago. All came back normal and not sure if it's related but I also got a BFP after that when I did my FET. :)

My doctor suggested also and I said No since it's technically optional. And I was afraid of pain. But I may consider now.
Does it have to be the very month before a cycle? Or can it be 2-3 months prior?

Mine would up being about 2 months before my transfer. Just worked out that way.

Thought about this, I think you mean a mock transfer? Most REs do this, they insert a catheter to see where they would transfer the embryo and how smoothly that goes.

I had the mapping and biopsy yesterday. It wasn't bad at all. Minor cramping for about 10 seconds.

Did you end up taking anything prior for pain?
Also are they testing anything from the biopsy?

Mine also did not hurt much. I took 2 advil about 45 mins prior. Mine tested for infection, lining stage, cancer, pre cancer, etc.

THanks. I can only hope I have similar experience. I know everyone is different but these horror stories of pain freak me out. Do they just take one piece of the lining or do they scrape out a few spots?

The whole thing took literally 2 min. I took 3 Advil an hour before as instructed. It's almost like a pap but of the uterus so there is a slight cramping that lasts a few seconds. No worse than a period cramp.

THanks. I can only hope I have similar experience. I know everyone is different but these horror stories of pain freak me out. Do they just take one piece of the lining or do they scrape out a few spots?
I read the horror stories too. My dr just used a pipette to suction a few times. It was a small cramp. Hope you feel the same. I was fine when done, drove home myself, etc.

I did a Biopsy between a canced Fresh and an upcoming FET cycle, I took 4 Motrins and hour before all I felt was a little pinch, the only annoying part was the speculum. I honestly think it helped implantation because I ended up getting pregnant naturally.
