uterine scarring and adhesions
Can a water sono or hsg diagnose this? My tests always come out clear but I have a history of bad scarring and adhesions inside of the uterus. I am wondering if this may be causing my early chemicals. I will ask my RE on thursday but does anyone on here know if these conditions can be diagnosed via those tests? Mine were diagnosed via hysteroscopy years ago and everything was cleared via D&C.

Re: uterine scarring and adhesions
The HSG is more used to see the patency of the tubes. Can sometimes suggest irregularities like polyps.
The water sono gives a great look at the lining of the uterus to see if is smooth or irregular; however, it can not diagnose adhesions or scarring. Adhesions and scarring can cause the irregularities in the lining that may be seen on the water sono, but the definitive diagnosis is through Hysteroscopy.

Re: uterine scarring and adhesions
I just recently had an HSG to look for uterine scarring. Sometimes they go for the hysteroscopy because it's operative, so if they find something, they can fix it right there rather than bring you in for a second procedure. But obviously it's more invasive and often they put you out.
ETA: Chemicals are usually attributed to embryo problems. I did see a RI who blamed clotting/NK activity, but, you know, that's controversial among doctors. I am having a beta 3 integrin biopsy to look for proper lining development and receptivity because of recurring chemicals (just in case it's not an egg problem) which is something I know CCRM recommends for endo girls. E-tegrity is the company who does that test if you're interested.

uterine scarring and adhesions
My scar tissue was noticed via sonogram by the ultrasound tech at my OB office. During my csection a few weeks ago the extent of the scar tissue damage and adhesions was realized. My uterus was like...matted together and not enough room for my DD to continue growing (explains delivering her at 35 weeks). They could not open my previous incision and had to make a "fresh cut" and had to request additional instruments because it was so fused the "regular scalpel" didn't work. It was bad and a long process. They basically had to do a 360 on my uterus and fix each layer that my old OB screwed up during my previous csection. More children isn't an option due to the damage.

I had a "filling defect" seen on my HSG which could have been a few different things including an air bubble, mass, scar tissue, polyp...etc. On my water sono the lining looked irregular. Hysteroscopy diagnosed it as a few polyps which they removed during the d&c.
Btw...T, congratulations your daughter is beautiful!!!!!
