UTI's in cats
My 13 year old cat has her 2nd UTI in less than a year. It's so sad to see her so uncomfortable. I am currently waiting for her urine culture to come back so the vet will know exactly which antibiotic to give her. The last one didn't work. Does anyone know of anything I can give her to prevent UTI's or alleviate her symptoms? Thanks!

Re: UTI's in cats
I found something great in Petco. It's a natural supplment that I used to crush up in my cat's food to help prevent them. It really worked too.
It's called Feline Urinary Support... it's big pills in a bottle with a yellow label. It's sold in the section near the cat vitamin supplements, etc.
You crush the pill up and mix in the food- it's flavored too so they don't mind eating it.
Give it a try...

Re: UTI's in cats-update
Thank you! I did get the Feline Urinary Support at Petco on Saturday. Emily ate them that night but now she won't touch them. I also ordered UTI-Free online. It just came yesterday, I sprinkle it on her food. So far, so good. Her symptoms have subsided, no more bloody urine spots on the carpet anyway. I'm still waiting for the vet to call with the results of her culture and I will ask about the prescription food. Thanks for the tips!
