vacation at 26-28 weeks..... am I nuts to do this?

I booked a babymoon (london and germany) to be right after a business meeting in scotland. I'll be at the end of my second trimester....

how crazy is this situation? I booked it to be longer than usual (we'll be gone 3 weeks in total between business/fun) becuase I figured I'd be much slower than normal. It's in june/july, when the temps up there are rather comfortable.

is this nuts? how did/do you feel at 26-28 weeks?

I just got back from a (much) shorter babymoon at 25wks and was hiking & climbing mountains. It's tough to predict how you'll feel...just take it at your pace. Walk a lot on the plane and drink an obscene amount of water - regardless of the "funny" comments from everyone.

ok, that makes me feel a bit better... I won't be hiking.... I'm planning a more sedated vacation....

yeah, I know about the walking on planes and not crossing my legs stuff... and I likely will have liter bottles of water strapped to me at all times

at least there's a chance I could enjoy myself!

in sunny key largo, 29 weeks pregnant with #1!!!

the ONLY down side was watching DH have nice glasses of wine and drinks during nites out on the town!

I'm 28 weeks now and I think you should be fine. Just keep in mind that you might have to take it slow and have no expectations!!! Have fun!!!

I think you will be fine. Just make sure you see your doctor beforehand since you are going to be gone for so long and make sure you schedule your GD test before you leave because you have to do that between 24-28 weeks. One other thing is make sure you get up and walk a lot during the long flight.

I am currently 27 weeks and I think I could handle being away right now. I still feel pretty good at this point.

I think you should be fine.. I was feeling pretty good at that stage its when you hit the 3rd trimester that you start to feel crummy again... have fun

Just inform your dr, and drink a lot of water and get up to stretch on the plane.

That sounds great! I went to Aruba when I was about 26 weeks with DS. I LOVED it!

I was in London, preggo with #1 around 27-28 weeks -- it was fine.

We're going to Charleston next week (I'll be 29 weeks).

We just went to Myrtle Beach and Charleston, SC and I am 26 wks. We had a great time! But it will all depend on how you feel. I am sure things will be fine--it sounds like an amazing trip!
PS-Get up and walk around alot of on the plane, drink alot of water and dress in layers so you are comfortable.

if you have to go prego on vacation, these are the weeks to do it! You'll feel great, have lots of energy and will really enjoy yourself.
