Vacation Ideas...
We're thinking about going away for my 30th in August (with the baby). Having a hard time thinking of places to go though, don't know about hurricanes & all that. How's the Bahamas in the Summer? Anyone have good ideas of where to take a 7 month old? Am I crazy for wanting to do this? I just think I will miss her too much if we leave her with the grandparents. I'd take a plane if it's 2 hours or under, we'll drive as long as that's not too long either. TIA.

Re: Vacation Ideas...
They're predicting an active 2006 Hurricane season. http://www.livescience.com/forcesofnature/051206_hurricane_forecast_2006.html Hurricane season in the Atlantic Basin, which includes the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico, runs from June 1 to Nov. 30. Forecasters expected a busy season in 2006. In 2005, Nature dished out more storms than anyone expected, and new records were set for the most storms, the most intense one ever, and the most destructive. ====================== I would opt for Smuggler's Notch (Vermont) or the Cape

Re: Vacation Ideas...
I don't really have any vacation suggestions - but I wanted to say you are not crazy for wanting to go away with her.
We took Talia to Colorado at 4 months - we are going to the bahamas in April (she'll be 7 months) Florida in June (9 months) and Israel in October (13 months) - I think it is good for her and for us to get used to traveling together - or else I fear we won't go anywhere!

Re: Vacation Ideas...
I always get pleasantly surprised when I do something with Emily that I was previously nervous to do. I was so nervous to take her to a restaurant because I was afraid she'd cry and disturb other people but I had off this week and had 3 lunch dates with family/friends, and took her to all of them. She loved them as long as I fed her while we were eating!
So in other words -- I say you go for it. And take LOTS AND LOTS of pictures! It could be a really awesome family experience.

We're going to Key Biscayne, Florida with her at 6 1/2 months and Carmel/Pebble Beach area in California (a wedding) at 13 months. We got her her own seat on the plane for the trip to California.

We were thinking that, but where to cruise to in the Summer that the weather will be good? I'm afraid of a rocky boat ride w/ the hurricanes & all.
