Vacation ideas with a 2 year old
The last two years our vacations have sucked (if I'm being honest). Two years ago we went to Hershey with a newborn - hahaha. This past summer we went to the finger lakes, which sounds awesome, but we got super crumby weather and my DS hated the rocky beach line.
So this summer, I want to go on a nice vacation. I don't care if we fly or drive. If we go to the Caribbean or stay in the states. What was your favorite vacation that you've done with your toddler? It does not need to be toddler centric. I'm not huge on sightseeing - although I'm not opposed to it - I really prefer to really relax on vacation at a pool, beach, spa, etc. As for my DS, he's not into any shows or characters and we're not planning on taking him to Disney until he is 4 or 5.
We have not extensively traveled recently, but we have been to San Diego, San Fran, Sonoma, Boston, Ocean City, Dewey Beach, Cape Cod, Jamaica, London, and various cruises before.
We are most likely going to Block Island for a week with DH's side.

Re: Vacation ideas with a 2 year old
Went to Wildwood this summer and loved it. The zoo in Cape May was amazing and free. Cape May was great too We stayed in Diamond Beach at a great hotel that was newly renovated and all suites. ..with kitchens. Pool and private huge beach. The boardwalk had great rides for the little ones too and some water parks. Best of all worlds

Vacation ideas with a 2 year old
how bout a cruise? the NCL breakaway leaves right out of NYC, so you wouldn't even have to fly. everything is included- its so easy!! they have a "Sprayground" area on the ship for little ones to run around in. the drop off kids club starts at 3 years old.... but i want to say they had a nursery area for younger ones.

We did the Breakaway this past July with our then 3 1/2 year old DD. We had a fabulous time. The Sponge Bob splash area is great for littles. We hung there practically the whole week.
We did Aruba when DD was 2 1/2 and it was great. It's very family friendly.
Just keep in mind it's super hard to relax with a two year old. We found the cruise the most relaxing because my parents were on the cruise with us so they babysat a couple of nights.

Re: Vacation ideas with a 2 year old
We took our 2 year to Italy last year and had an awesome time. He loved just looking at everything and even survived a 3-hour tour of the Vatican. It was an exhausting itinerary though and it sounds like you might be looking for a more relaxing vacation LOL.
We have also done Savannah recently and that was a lot of fun with our DS. You could go to Tybee Island afterwards for some beach relaxing.

I know you said you've been to San Fran before, but I think this is a great spot for what you are looking for. Some kid-centered things like the zoo, but also great for a kid to take in all the sights (water, boats, gardens, etc.)

Re: Vacation ideas with a 2 year old
We just got back from 4 nights in St. Thomas and it was perfect for our almost 3 year old DD. We stayed at the Ritz Carlton and the hotel has a fantastic infinity pool that gradually increases from 1 feet to 5 feet. Great for kids! They also have a small sprinkler area as well. We pretty much spent every day in the pool, on the resort's beach, or out in a kayak or catamaran. The place isn't kid centric, but there were a bunch of kids there, so DD had fun splashing with other toddlers. We're already planning to go back in a few years.
