vacation/naps and bedtime question

i am going on vacation next week with a 6 month old who really needs naps and bed on a schedule. you can set your clock by my kid - up at 6:30, nap at 8:30 and 1, bed at 6:30. she starts melting down around 6, out cold by 6:30. any advice for vacation? we are thinking we may just get a sitter at night.

I'd love to see the answers to this! My DD has the same EXACT schedule as your DD and we are looking to go away in April. You'll have to let me know how it goes for you. Chat Icon

I will. i have a question for you, being they;re on the same schedule - when/how much is db eating? mine is 6 months old, we are doing solids for bkfst and dinner, wondering when/what time to add lunch.

We actually went away when DD was 8 months and she also needed to stick to a routine. We went on vacation with another couple who had a 1 year old (thankfully on a similar schedule) and we shared a 2 bedroom condo. We'd do an early dinner out, come back to the condo & put the babies to bed and would hang out on the deck playing games or cards and drink some margaritas (of course we brought our monitors). It was a blast. I would definitely do it again.

DD is 7 mos. old. Here is her schedule.

7ish: 8 oz. bottle

10:30ish: Fruit (4 oz.) plus 2 TBSP. Oatmeal/Cereal (w/ 2 oz. formula)

12:30ish: 8 oz. bottle

2:30ish: Veggie (4 oz.) plus 2-3 TBSP. Cereal (w 2 oz. formla)

6ish: 6-8 oz. bottle

So, DD is only getting 2 meals/day. However, today for the very first time, I gave DD a 2nd fruit around 5:15. But that was because she didn't finish her "lunch" (which has never happened before!). My ped said that they recommend 2-3 meals/day and since this is working for us for now, I think we'll stick with it. But, perhaps I'll try to add in that 3rd meal once in a while (and eventually, reguarly) around 5ish.

This sounds great! We are actually thinking of going away with our friends in April whose DS will be 11 mos. old and our DD will be 10 mos. old. Where did you go??
