I was thinking of staying there in willow valley. I just want to make sure its not boring. Some places I find in PA are boring like allentown.

Re: vacation spots with newborns
Mystic, CT has alot to do, plus the aquarium is AWESOME!
I love Newport, RI, there's lots to see even when the beaches are closed and lots of yummy places to eat, and it's not too pricey.
ETA: We stay at a cozy, nice bed and breakfast in off the main road in the center of town, it's only like 99 bucks a night, for the biggest room and that was for 4th of july week. It's called the Black Duck Inn

Mystic is in CT, it's on the border of RI.
Newport is in RI.
I didn't hear a thing from other rooms, not even toilets or showers, at least at the black duck inn. We had the biggest room available. We only were in our room for sleeping. There are hotels in Newport, but they are much more pricey.
I live in CT, i travel from LI all the time so from NYC say, it will take you about 2 hours to get to Mystic and from NYC to Newport 3 hours. If you don't want to drive around, take either the Port jeff ferry to Bridgeport, or the Orient Ferry to New London CT. It will save you lots of driving time.

Where do you live on LI?
Once you go over the bridge either GW or Throgs neck headed towards CT/RI, it should take about 3 hours from there.
My mom always takes the ferry up to CT, it doesn't save time, but def saves driving in traffic.
You can either take the port jeff ferry to bridgeport, CT or take the Orient ferry from Orient point to New london, CT
NEw london CT is about a 1/2 hour from mystic.

Re: vacation spots with newborns
Great ideas- I want to go away now!
I would not recommend staying at a B&B with a newborn. All that I've been to do not allow children.
