Re: Vacation Time
At my last job, for the first 5 years, you would acrue 1.(something) vacation days per month, totalling 15 vacation days per year, taken however you wanted. After your 5th year, it was increased to 20 vacation days (broken down into 12 monthly acruements - if that's a word).
We were given 10 sick/personal days every January, 6 of which we were able to carry over to the next year, AND would get a bonus in February for the amount of any days not taken. We also had 1 floating holiday that we had to use w/i the calendar year, or we lost it.
They were pretty generous, I'll give 'em that. This was a fairly large law firm, and this was for staff, not billers.

Re: Vacation Time
Generally speaking my industry gives 3 weeks paid vacation at 10 years
But you start with 2 weeks vacation and 2 personal days (or floating holidays) 12 days
The new place I’m at now offers all new employees 15days vacation at hire (to be accrued after 6 months of course) plus the 2 so I guess I get 17 days off?
Then again I was just breaching my 10th year in the industry when I got this job.
ETA: And summer days too (half days on selected Fridays between Memorial Day & Labor Day) but I don't always see that at every job

Re: Vacation Time
22 days vacation time 10 paid holidays every year, they seem to throw in another 2-3 paid holidays additionally "flexible fridays" - can take off about every other friday in the summer unlimited sick time (which is a joke, cause no one ever takes it)

Re: Vacation Time
2 weeks for non-exempt, then 3 weeks after 3 years.
3 weeks for exempt (salary) and then 4 weeks after 5 years

Re: Vacation Time
my company ranges from 17-27 days, depending on how many years you've been with the company or your level
For me, I accrue 17 days over the first year and then every year I get one extra day. sick days are supposed to be included in that figure, but never end up counting in. I will continue earning an extra day each year until I reach 27 days.
But, for one level above me, you start with 22 days and acrue by year until you hit 27. For the level above that (EVPs), you start out w/27 right from the beginning but never earn more.
We also get bereavement leave that doesn't count in this. And we can carry over 5 days into the next year.
