Vacationing WITHOUT the kids
DH and I have not gone away without the kids ever. We both want to go on vacation together, but I'm kind of uneasy about it. Our youngest will be 15 months old when we do go away.
Have any of you gone on vacation without DC? How old were they? How long was your vacation?

Our first vacation, we left Ryan, who was just under a year at the time, with my MIL and FIL for 4 days. The second time he was 14 months and we went to Europe for a week and a half. We also recently went to Montauk for a few days and Ryan is 2.5 and Erin is 11 months.
It was hard to say goodbye, but we had a great time and spent time together which was much needed.
Plus, they get to spend time with their grandparents!!! Its a win-win!

DD was 9 months and spent 5 days with my parents. My parents had a blast and so did we! I have left DD with my family numerous times for different occassions, never a problem for any of us.

We are going away in oct from wed-sun. DD will be 7 months. I definitely think it will be harder on me than on her.

We were gone 3 days, 2 nights....Josh is 19 months old.
I never felt comfortable leaving him alone while I was nursing....so this was perfect timing.
He really doesn't even know my parents, so my mother was worried how he would act, but everything went great.
I left a very detailed sheet, and had all his meals planned out(he is my allergy boy)
DH really needed this trip. He always goes on trips solo...he hates that I am not around for them, even if I don't mind it at all.
I needed to show him that life still goes on after baby.

We went to Aruba without DD when she was 8 months old. We were away for 4 nights, 5 days and I don't think DD notcied we were gone

Haven't been able to do it yet and with #2 on the way it will be a while. The most we've done is a night away. I was hoping for a long weekend before #2 but I don't think that's going to happen due to child care stuff.

DH and I would love to go somewhere for 4 or 5 days but we don't have anyone that can watch them. So it will be sometime before we can go away.
