vacations and TTC
We were planning on booking a cruise for next month, but I was just reading something that said you shouldn't take any of those sea-sickness meds if you are TTC or pre TTC. I have never been on a cruise and I'm afraid that I will get sea sick. Does anyone have any experience with this? Any relatively cheap alternatives to a cruise? We need a vacation!

Re: vacations and TTC
DH always gets sea sick but never got sick on our RCCL cruise. He was pleasantly surprised and after that we had a nice stock of motion sickness meds! Enjoy your vacation, they are especially good while TTC!

Re: vacations and TTC
Ginger root pills worked for me. They are all natural and I'm sure it would be fine to take them. You may want to ask your gyn about it. Have fun!

I'm prone to motion sickness and did not feel sick at all on the cruise we went on last year. If you're concerned about the motion sickness meds, you can use Sea Bands (sold in drug stores). I use them when we're on smaller boats and it helps me better than taking dramanie or bonine

Keep in mind that traveling is one of the things that can mess up your monthly cycle.

It's a possibility... but do not stop your life because you are TTC. DH and Ijust went on a trip of a lifetime last month, something he had started talking about 6 months earlier and I was very hesitant. I am soooooooooo happy that DH got through to me and convinced me to go. You need to live your life, if you don't TTC is going to consume you and that causes more un-needed stress.

If there is any chance going on a crusise might hurt your chances of conception I would not go, I would take a plane somewhere instead... XOXOXO Kitty

Re: vacations and TTC
I am sooooo seasick but we did a long cruise for our HM 2 years ago and after the first night, I never realized we were on a ship. They're so massive you honestly don't feel them moving. I agree with the PP who said you can't stop your life because you're TTC. Enjoy this time together to the fullest - in not so long it won't be your own anymore
ETS: If you're looking for an inexpensive alternative, an all-inclusive in the DR is probably the best way to go. Check some of those out too.

Re: vacations and TTC
I always get the sea sick wrist bands and they seem to work...I even wore them for morning sickness when I was pg. I would go and enjoy yourself....I'm going on a cruise next month!! Can't wait!! If the ship is big enough you won't even realize you are on a boat!!
