vacations from groupon or living social
I was wondering has anyone purchased any vacation from these site or others? I always look but never know how good of a deal they are.

I bought a great one - it was for a south american tour with Intrepid Travel. I think the groupon saved me about $600/person.

That is awesome! I've always wants to purchase a vacation myself but never have... Good to know of a positive experience!

I did once for an overnight at a B&B. It turned out to be a great experience but I am a little leery of doing it for a big vacation. I know for example when you book with hotwire you really don't have any recourse if things go poorly, and you can get bumped to the worst rooms, etc. Maybe I'm just being overly cautious but I'd be VERY nervous about a big or especially an international trip

A friend of mine is going to Ireland with a groupon she got, so far she had a nice costumer service experience while booking it

just make sure to do your research before purchasing, and you should be fine.
i bought a great deal for an all-inclusive in cancun and had no problems whatsoever. and we got DH's folks a stay at a hotel in AC with dinner for a great price too. again, no issues.
other trips i was planning on purchasing, but did not after reading reviews, included a casino in PA (reviews were AWFUL for the hotel) and a trip to south africa (after doing research, the hotels that were part of the trip were not really a great deal...and i actually found i could get a better deal at nicer places if i did the research myself)
so, overall, i think its fine....but do the research first. dont just assume b/c its on groupon that the place is wonderful. kwim?

My BF and I went to Jamaica on a Groupon, it was great! (Though we did pay extra for a premium room--but the savings from the groupon offset the cost!)
