Vaccination Question..
Disclaimer: This is not meant to start any controversey I am just trying to get some feedback before I have to make decisions next month.
Did anyone delay vaccinations meaning not allow their child to get multiple vaccinations at one visit? Instead one per month which throws the recommended schedule off a little bit?
I am definitely going to vaccinate although we did not do the Hep B nor will we do flu and we are still undecided about chicken px. I just am leery about letting them give all the shots at once. I have read both sides of the arguement and just want some real life feedback. A couple of my friends have done this while others have just followed the recommended schedule with the multiple vaccines.

Re: Vaccination Question..
I am not sure we delayed anything, but my pediatrician's office policy is not to give more than 2 shots per visit. I know some offices give as much as 4 per visit, which is too much, IMO.
He'll have his 18-month visit next month, and we are on target for all.
Not sure if this answered your question. Andrew will get all his shots as recommended by his pedi.

Re: Vaccination Question..
We just went for our one month visit last week and Marissa got the first Hep B vaccination (I think there are 3 shots in all). I'm not sure which vaccinations he's going to do at the 2 month visit but I know he said he doesn't do all four at once.

Re: Vaccination Question..
I think Nick gets 3 each visit - he has never had any reaction.

Re: Vaccination Question..
I delayed Emmas shots till she was 4 months and Jeremys untill he was 3 months. We NEVER do more than 2 shots at a visit and sometimes I only give one (like Emmas MMR) and sometimes I don't even give him any shots.
With Emma we had to go back between her scheduled visits just for shots (2 or 3x) but she is completly caught up

Re: Vaccination Question..
Sometimes she gets two, sometimes she gets three, never had a problem. She also got the flu shot (she's 14months) with no problem. I'd rather do three at once, while they're already upset about getting stuck, then dragging them in there a month later to get another shot. I strongly believe that the pediatricians are all up on the latest research and recommendations...and the last thing they would do is anything that would jeopordize our children - so I follow their advice.

Re: Vaccination Question..
I am sticking with the schedule the pediatritian recommends for vaccinations. however when we went for our new baby visit the pediatritian did say that emily already had her first hep b in the hospital and her next shot isn't until her 2 month visit. at that point she'll have them every month but never more then 2 shots at a time. i think they give combination shots. when you have to get like 4 or so it usually means that the doc didnt have combo shots available so the baby had to recieve more shots.
