Vaccine possible before the end of the year - with poll
Researchers at Oxford University may have a vaccine ready by September! It is a vaccine they have been working on for years for other corona viruses and they will be starting large scale human trials next month! NY Times - Oxford U. Corona vaccine
When (if) an FDA approved vaccine is available, will you get it?

Possibly - but I would like to be tested for antibodies before getting vaccinated.

Agree. A part of me thinks September is way too soon for them to perfect a vaccine. But the other part of me says that i'm willing to take that risk of the vaccine because I can't live much longer like this. ETA: I just read the article, sounds promising. But with only a few million doses ready to go in September, I wonder who would get them? Would any even make it to the US...

Re: Vaccine possible before the end of the year - with poll
I put maybe after it has been around for a while.
That isn’t because I’m anti-vax, although I do have my worries about the safety of it at the beginning. It’s more because I’m terrified of needles. It isn’t a thing like I’m scared of needles, etc. It’s a fear that has hindered my life. At this point, I’m not scared of getting Corona, but I’m more terrified of the fact that I would have needles in my arm for an IV, blood tests, etc.
I’ll only do it when I have to, and right now I can comfortably work from home until July. I miss my SO, so I’ll make him get it and then I just won’t go out.
We loosened restrictions in some parts here and the numbers are going up. So I’m willing to stay at home a little longer now. That and I also got more work.

Vaccine possible before the end of the year - with poll
I want to see long term effectiveness of a vaccine before I get it. Not saying I want to stay in quarantine until then, but there are new things coming out each day about C-19 (blood clots, strokes, etc) and I don't know if I have confidence that a vaccine at this point could completely take away the effects long term.

I wouldn’t get it and neither my family. I have no problem if they come up with one, what I would def have a problem with is if they make it mandatory just like they have with the vaccine schedule right now. I couldn’t care less what someone else does, each one of us does what’s best for our own family but nobody should force anything on anybody, especially the government.
