Most REs prescribe it for the transfer - to help you relax. I was a shaky mess before my transfer and it REALLY helped!

I'm not sure if most REs prescribe valium for the transfer. I actually never heard of it outside of this board.
Regardless, my RE didn't give it to me for the transfer and I was fine. It's literally less than a pap smear or IUI.

I figured it was more for the nervousness of it as a whole, rather than the procedure itself.

I had the option to take a valium before the ET if I wanted to. My RE said it relaxes the uterus causing it to be less likely to contract so the embryo can implant.

Dr.b had me taske one before transfer..it was a small amount think 5 mg
sandra told me it is not so much to relax you but relax your body
all i know is that one pill cost me like 60 bucks

this. its not so much to relax the mind, that's just a nice side effect.

It relaxes you and relaxes the muscles....making the retrieval easier for them. I also had it for my FET...it was wonderful but didnt last too long
