Valneva vaccine
Does anyone know about this vaccine?
My neighbour mentioned it, and that she was waiting for this one (Edit: it’s coming this autumn).
I can’t wait because of job reasons. I need to get it done now.

Re: Valneva vaccine

What is VLA2001 and how is it different from other approaches? VLA2001 is a Vero-cell based, highly-purified inactivated whole virus vaccine candidate. VLA2001 is currently the only whole virus, inactivated, adjuvanted vaccine candidate in clinical trials against COVID-19 in Europe. The inactivated vaccine is a proven approach that has been used for decades. [1] An inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is expected to be suitable for wide deployment. Valneva’s vaccine candidate is based on the same manufacturing platform the Company already uses to produce its FDA/EMA/MHRA approved JE vaccine. VLA2001 combined with alum and Dynavax’s adjuvant CpG 1018 has been demonstrated in preclinical studies and as confirmed by recently obtained initial Phase 1/2 clinical data to induce a strong immune response and has the potential to generate high titers of neutralizing antibodies. Valneva’s inactivated SARS-CoV-2 vaccine is expected to have a two-dose regimen. VLA2001 is expected to conform with standard cold chain requirements (2 degrees to 8 degrees centigrade).

Re: Valneva vaccine
This would be a great vaccine for those who are afraid of the mRNA and DNA technology. Seems like a "traditional" vaccine. But will it be available in the US?

Isn't the Johnson and Johnson vaccine a traditional vaccine as well?

I don't know much about J&J because it isn't available that much here (I don't think it is as I have not heard much about it), but it has the same technology as AstraZeneca-- vectors.

I'm still undecided what to do. I have some time, but not much.

Personally if I could go back in time I would get Pfizer instead of J&J. Pfizer seems to be the best all around.

I‘m not sure if I get a choice. The BioNTech (Pfizer) seems to be the one most used. They sometimes mix vaccines here, I heard. I‘m pretty sure that I am not allowed to get AstraZeneca because of my age, but I‘m not sure if that changed or not. There is a note that if you get AZ first, then your second will be an mRNA vaccine.
