Vent - Need help/motivation
I am in desperate need of some motivation to stay focused. I don't know what my problem is with my weight issues. Every year I take my measurement & weigh myself & say I am going to lose x amount of weight this year. And EVERY year my starting weight is higher & higher. So basically instead of losing weight I continue to gain weight every year.
When it comes to other things in my life, if there is something I want or if I have a goal I am always able to make it happen no matter what. I focus & do what ever it is I have to do to acheive that goal. I don't know why i can't do the same for my weight loss goals. my weight is getting really out of control & it is too the point where i refuse to take pictures because I am SO disgusted with myself. Yet I continue to eat the the things that I am not supposed to be eating. It seems to be that I am focusing so much on everything else in my life (my new baby boy, completing my MBA this year & my career - supposed to be getting a promotion after completing the MBA) that I let my weight loss goals take the back burner. it is the las tthing on my mind during the day so i end up eating whatever is around with out thinking about it. I don't know why I can't make this a priority in my life. I think it stems from the fact that in my mind, everything else that I focus on is for the benefits of my family & the weight issue is just all about me. I keep trying to tell myself that losing weight is also for the benefit of my family. This is also a health issue now & I know i need to stay healthy for my son..... I just don't know why I can't make this happen when I have no problem making other things happen in my life.
I also wanted to add that I only gained 4lbs during my pregnancy last year. I lost weight during the beginning & then gain some in te end. After I gave birth & I was breastfeeding I was down 21 lbs from my prepregnancy weight. (I never in a million years would have thought that I would lose weight by having a baby) But after I stopped breastfeeding I quickly gained back about 16lbs. So now I am 5lbs down from my prepregnancy weight. I NEED to lose a min of 35lbs. Overall I would like to lose 50-60lbs.
Thank you for letting me vent......
I am open to all suggestions if you have any.....TIA!

it seems that you have a lack of time and with that it's easy to fall into bad habits.
but think about ways to cut time, but eat healthy. (salad in a bag, precut veggies, precooked chicken strips, apples, etc)
start out with a one week goal - to eat one salad and to walk up the staris at work. and start increasing as you build confidence.

Thank you for replying! It is definately lack of time. I definately need to look for healthier things to eat that are easy to throw together so i dont just grab the junk....

what about making crockpot recipies?
WW has plenty of cook once--eat all week recipes.
keep plenty of healthy and single serving snacks around- that way when u finish the bag there isnt more to eat.

Really? I actually just started using my crock pot this week after receiving at my bridal shower 2 year ago....
I was thinking of joining WW online. I guess that is where I can find the crock pot recipes?

I just saw one of my coworkers lunch and was so impressed.
salad (which you can do from the bag), almonds, crasins and cooked chicken strips from TJs. It seems so easy...I may think about doing this for my lunches.

Yes there are crockpot recipes on the site. You can also search the community for recipes (you don't have to have ww online to do this) for recipes.
FM me your e-mail address. I have pdf files of a TON of crockpot recipes for weight watchers!
