What does this mean? You have to dress similar or with the same with another’s child ? Do you have to buy them ? I am not sure what this means?
Yes! The kids pick a friend and they dress the same, do their hair the same, etc. This is in an elementary school 1st - 5th grades. My DS's told me on that Wednesday that Friday is twin day. That Thursday night around 7PM an email was sent out and also posted on the FB page. My 1st grader was cute and picked a good friend in class and they coordinated it themselves. I knew the mom so we went back and forth Thursday afternoon what they'd wear and she came and picked up a Jets Jersey we had two of. My 3rd grader has 3 best friends and 2 said they were doing together and told my DS he didn't have a team Jersey they're wearing. Last min him and another friend decided to twin and we picked a team. MY friend's DD from class was going to twin with a friend and gave her friend her #. My friend never heard from them so the night before she went to bed upset. The teachers were awesome and gave her a matching sticker and said they're twins. It's ridiculous and could hurt a kid's feelings. They can triplet if they want too, but still.
And putting aside the main reason I hate this idea- the fact that it can leave a child out and make them feel awful- it's also a lot of work for the parents with what seems like no notice! You are saying they didn't officially announce this until the night before at 7pm????? Awful planning! What if you didn't have a matching shirt or whatever to a friend? I mean who does in reality? This is just insanity.

Yes! Totally ridiculous. I usually love the school ideas and don't even mind those weeks they have to "wear" a certain outfit or whatever, but to pick one or even 2 friends is a bit much. At least it's your choice to not be apart of the spirit weeks.
