Vent about GE Service
We bought a GE Profile gas stove in September. In December/January the broiler stopped working. We called customer service to schedule a service appt and based on times we had to push back to April...long time but that was based on our schedules. No biggie.
Fast forward to April...the guy comes and determines that it has to do with something or other that he doesn't have the part for so he orders it and says he'll be back on May 4th. May 4th turns out to not work so I call Customer Service and ask for a new date - no problem. He asks for the telephone number where the appliance is - which is our home number and we are done.
May 10th - one day before the appt we come home from work and have a message to confirm the appt. I call back and when I put the number in I get transferred to customer service. The proceed to tell me that since it's after 5:30 the appt has been cancelled but they will help me make another one. I was livid. Never did they say that we had to be available to take the call (I would have given my cell) or that if we didn't that it would be cancelled. So I ask to speak to a manager and tell him that at 38 weeks pregnant this is unacceptable and we need the appt to be honored. He comes back and says no problem - but it will be later in the day. I should have known they were playing games.
DH waited the entire day just to hear at 6:30 that the guy was running behind and couldn't make it. So now he has to come when the baby is here and I am on leave.
So...just a warning....give them a number that you can always be reached at.

we had a problem with them for our refrigetator. We needed a new door and it was on backorder. its a door....nothing special...well we waited and waited. Finally it came in, the guy fixed it and the next day, another door was delivered!! Guess that is the "just in case" one!!

Did you try calling a different repair service? Our GE profile fridge broke yesterday... GE customer service could not schedule an appt until today and wanted to charge us $90 plus labor and parts. We called a local repairman who came last night, charge us $100 that is applied towards the service, and has already called today to schedule when he can return with the part he has already ordered! Just a thought...
