VENT LONG Follow-up about shower
So I have asked my mom to change my shower date from June 26th to an earlier date based on my doctor's "suggestion". I tried to explain to my mom that June 26th was too late for my shower before she booked it but clearly she ignored my suggestion and sent out the invites last week. I would have been 35 weeks and would have to drive from Northern VA to NY. My doctor's office was not happy when I told them.
So last night after talking to my father he graciously spoke with my mom. I was really not looking forward to asking my mom to change the date. Everything with her requires drama and a process. So my mom calls me and tells me all about her friends that cannot make it for the date I have suggested. Never once did she mention me or my health or the fact that if she left it, there was a possibility that I wouldn't be there. I am just so annoyed right now. I guess she is going to try change the date but still not to the weekend I have suggested. bang:

Oh man...that sounds very familiar. I went through that with my bridal shower.
Now for this one I will be 36 weeks at my and asked to have it way earlier. BUT my mom called 2 places and they were booked for communions and such. So she didn't have a choice.
I can't wait to hear the size comments on that day. I may haul off and punch someone!!
I can't imagine going through this after doctor's orders and adding travel in to the mix. I'm so sorry dear!

Well the date has been changed! Of course not to the date I want but what can I do? At least its been handled. My friend and my mom are going to have to go down the list and call/ email each person about the change.

Well the date has been changed! Of course not to the date I want but what can I do? At least its been handled. My friend and my mom are going to have to go down the list and call/ email each person about the change.

Great that they changed the date!
Yeah its a compromise and I am dealing with all the lecturing and guilt from my mom as a consequence. I just can't win

Ugh, that stinks! I have to travel for my shower too, so we are having it earlier. I am sorry that you have to go through extra stress...
