VENT: Weddings this year
We have 4 weddings this year. DH is in one of them. One is in March, the same weekend of his (10 year old) sister's birthday. The next two are July 6 & 7. His father's (who is fatally ill, and we only hope will be around) birthday is the 5th, my father's birthday is the 9th of July, DH's brother is the 11th, my sister is the 12th, and my mother is the 27th of July  . We have another on Sept. 29th, which is the day after DH's 30th B-day, which we were planning on spending in Disney World, but we probably won't do now.
All of the newleyweds to be were at our wedding last year, and seemed very happy to be there. We don't plan on missing any of the events, but I just feel overwhelmed by it all. Plus our "one post-honeymoon, pre-baby planning vacation" got cancelled.
For my 30th, we went to Disney & got engaged. What the heck am I supposed to do? I swear I wish just one of them would elope.
Sorry this was so long, and I don't mean to sound selfish, I just feel like we are simply not allowed to have a "newlywed year." Read my post on the Bereavement board for further info.

I feel your pain. The year before we got married we had 8 weddings, then the year we got married we had 9!!!! And we were in some of them!
I know that it seems you have no time to "be newlyweds", but you shuld use the weddings to try to remember the way you felt at your own wedding.....

We had a 9 wedding year too...followed 2 years later by 10 baby showers.

We have 6 weddings. 4 of them are out of town and will require a hotel stay. He's in two, I'm in two, and we are guests at two.

omg I was JUST talking about this w/ my BIL.... He has 6 weddings (so far) and we have 5 weddings and 2 bridal showers and DH is in one of the weddings
I am actually really looking forward to them all but I am nervous that its only January and we already have so many....

we have 4 so far and 2 of them are our brothers, so that will be a pretty penny. The other 2 are work friends, but still, it gets expensive

Wow! That is a lot. That was me and dh 2 years ago. I felt like we had a wedding every other month...Crazy.

I thought last year was the year for weddings...this year we have 8 starting with February right through November...add the 5 Bridal showers, the 4 Baby showers and the 4 Christenings plus the two BM dresses and we are in for some serious financial damage if we don't watch... too many things going on - with no breaks...
I guess we shouldn't complain too much...at least they are happy events...

I can understand how you feel. I replied to your other post, but my mom died 4 months after my wedding, I have no clue what its truly like to be a newlywed.
And we had 6 weddings in the 18 months following (and then all the showers and other events)! Its alot, but it generally dies down as well!
If you need to vent feel free to FM me, I have been in a very similar place!!!

I would kill for a four wedding year.
We have 7 ...
within 5.5 months ...
two of which are our siblings ...
4 of which are out of town.
The year we got married, we had 11, including ours and between the two of us, we were in 8 of them.
Trust me, it could be more expensive.
