Venues for 1st bday (Bklyn, Queens, W. Nassau)
Still deciding what to do. Any ideas of a location where we can rent out a nice space and bring in our own catering etc? Brooklyn, Queens or Western Nassau?
Or even a restaurant with a LARGE room for private party?

i used the lynbrook firehouse. they were awesome! the room holds 100 people. it was $450 including soda (they have a gun). and they let us take pics of the kids on the firetrucks.
ETA you can't use their kitchen. so if you want hot food, it has to be on sternos. i brought in cold food.

I know there are a ton of restaurants in Bay Ridge that have private party rooms (not sure what area you're looking at). Also, there are a few Knights of Columbus halls in Brooklyn. I know the ones I have been to usually have their own caterer that you have to use though. We actually ended up doing this for DDs 1st birthday.

I have pictures in my album of DS' 1st birthday at this location.
Queens Farm on Little Neck Pkwy in Floral Park rents a space and its very nice.

we used South Oxford Space for my sons Baptism.
it's almost behind the atlantic center mall. it's a very very pretty space.

Congregation Beth Elohim in park slope has nice spaces to rent. Even though its a synagogue, they don't care if you bring in non-kosher food.

Places we looked into (and have also been to) are Cebu, Greenhouse Cafe, The Pearl Room and Mama Rao's (this one is in Dyker Heights).
