Venues for a 30th bday party
Hello!
I'm looking to have a surprise 30th for DH this coming January and I was wondering if anyone could give me some ideas of RH's that might be good for a party. I originally thought of just doing a big dinner at a restaurant or lounge - but DH likes to have a good time (i.e, music, dancing, drinks etc) so I'm thinking I will have to go all out and rent a catering hall and a DJ and whatnot but I am on a bit of a budget since I would like to be able to pay for it myself and not have to use DH's credit card I'm thinking a Saturday in January might be less expensive than the other times during the year.
Any ideas????
TIA

I am in the middle of planning a 30th birthday for a friend (in February). We booked at Gallexy (a catering hall in Lindenhurst). It was pricey though

Re: Venues for a 30th bday party
I live on the Nassau/Suffolk border but I'm open to a a 15 mile radius if need be.
I was hoping to book a place that does the food so that would be one less thing i have to worry about.
Where is Galexy in Lindenhurst? How much is expensive if you don't mind my asking?

Even though its not a catering type place where you would have a DJ...
a place like Dave and Busters might also be good for what you have in mind...My BFF had her rehearsel dinner there in one of their private rooms...It was such an upbeat fun atmosphere with pool tables in the room etc...The food was awesome too..

Peppercorns has a great upstairs room - their food is great and you can do buffet or sitdown and they are reasonably priced (I think around $35 per person if i remember correctly).
I would definitely recommend them. They are located in Hicksville.

Re: Venues for a 30th bday party
My sister had a casino theme party for my brother-in-law a few years ago. Everyone seemed to have a good time. She had it at a VFW hall and hired a service for the casino set up.
