verizon teacher discounts? -Update ?
I heard teachers can get a 20% discount on wireless phone bill...anyone know how to set this up?
**Is this only for city teachers?**

I just found this after googling the discount:
Verizon Wireless offers a 19% discount on your primary cellular line if you are a NYS employee (as teachers & TA's you qualify). This offer is only available to current active employees of the State of New York, retirees are not eligible to participate in this offer. For information you can call:
If you have an existing Verizon contract: 1-866-456-7892
If you will be a new Verizon account: 1-866-368-3758
I was already considering switching over to Verizon, this is awesome!

FH is a NYC teacher and we get the 19% discount. They can give you the paperwork at a verizon store.

i have the discount and I am a teacher in East Meadow. I filled out a form and gave it to my secretary- a bunch of us did it and she faxed over the info.. Its a nice discount a month!!!

I believe Sprint does also for teachers but our discount was higher under DH's company's policy so we did that.

My DH works for the MTA and we also enjoy this discount, although I wish I knew about it when I was a RE broker in Manhattan racking up the minutes! 
We had to go to one of the "bigger" Verizon stores for the paperwork. The mom & pop one we first went to was like "huh"?
