Very frustrating...(day care related)
I am looking into putting DS in daycare either 2 full days or 3 1/2 days a week starting in Sept. It is not a definite but he will be 18 mo. and I think it will be good for him for a variety of reasons.
First I couldnt find a day care that had 2 or 3 - 1/2 day options so I thought ok, maybe we'll do 2 full days . Now, every time I call, they dont even offer 2 day programs...it's 3 days min.

This is very frustrating..It took me a long time to find the right fit, of someone I wanted my child to be with AND have them do part time.

It's really not worth it to them to fill a slot for someone to pay for 2 days a week when they could try to get someone to pay for 3, 4 or 5, so I really can't blame them. I think you will have better luck with a home based provider, as they tend to be more flexible.

Re: Very frustrating...(day care related)
Did you look into nursery schools that have 2 day programs for toddlers? Many do, only difference is, because they do not cater to working parents, they go by the public school calender. Where do you live? If you are in Nassau, I know of a few that offer 2 day a week programs for 2 yr olds.

Re: Very frustrating...(day care related)
Chrissy -
Thomas' daycare has a two day option (Tuesday and Thursday) or a three day option (Monday, Wednesday and Friday). FM me if you want more info. I don't know if you have to use the days they specified (Tuesday and Thursday for two day option, etc.), but that's what it says on the price list.
Good luck!
