Very small company- Health insurance question (IVF)
My DH works for a very small company and his employer pays for our health insurance thankfully ( which is an HMO) ...However we have no coverage for IVF ( IUI's are covered)..
Our last 2 IVF's we payed OOP.whicj stunk..My DH recently found out that his boss only has health insurance on him and maybe one other employee...
DH has been working for his boss for over 18 years so they are pretty close... My question is- Do you think the insurance would put an infertility rider on the policy if my DH payed the difference in premium ? Does the company need to insure a certain amount of employees to make it eligible or anything ??
Just wondering if it would pay to make up the difference to his boss for the premium if thats even a possiblity

We have aetna and they do not offer it. I called and asked when I thought we would need IVF. However do you there is a grant in NYS? Its really easy to apply for.
