Very stupid question-I did something very stupid and now I am having contractions

The phone was ringing so I started running from the front room through the living room in to the dining room. Now the kid is kicking like a soccer player up in my ribs and I am having contractions. Not bad, about 10 minutes apart since 7.30, and not gettign any closer... I get them alot but do you think I hurt him from running? Anyone ever jog 8 and a half months pg? I am anything BUT athletic. I couldn't induce myself in to labor this way, could I?

Im sure everything is fine.

I over stretched reaching for something the other day and had some contractions about 20 minutes apart for about 3 hours or so...I drank some water and rested and they stopped.

I have no idea if what you did could induce labor, but I was just thinking that if it could, wouldn't everyone who's overdue do it? Chat Icon

I have no idea what I am talking about, so don't quote me!

any physical activity can bring on uterine activity, so it's pretty common for any exercise to induce contractions. they should subside with time, i would just rest. i don't think you can hurt the baby by running - he's probably kicking because he senses all the recent activity... Chat Icon

Lol, thanks... they are like a half an hour apart now and seem to be getting further apart.

I tried eggplant, thai food, amongst other stuff to get Jules out, but I didn't try jogging. It hurt so much though when I did it. I am ok now, I just got in to work a little late, I waited them out to see if they got stronger...

I doubt the running did anything. It's not as if you went for a 5-mile jog!

Definitely call your doctor about the contractions though.
