eta: its not a great room, but it is big. Its very dated, and would need a LOT of decorations to hide it.

we had a few parties there too. I know my grandma has the number.. but I see Lisa already posted it.
It was only like $300-400 for the entire day when we rented it for my moms 50th birthday party.
ETA: it is definitely an UGLY room but we went crazy with decorations.
There is also Knights of Columbus in KP next door to VFW (much smaller)
and American Legion in KP on Thompson street near Astoria bank.
Elks lodge in Smithtown on Edgewood I heard was very nice but I've never been there.

I had my DH's 30th party at the Knights of Columbus in KP...it was pretty cheap and a good size hall....holds about 80 I believe... Only downfall, you can't bring a keg....only bottled beer which made it a little more $$
** Based on a previous posters info...it might have been the american legion....you make a right at the Astoria bank and it is on your left!
The elks in smithtown is nice but kinda $$ I believe $600 or so for the room alone (I just looked into it for DS's christening)

Sorry LB, its a little sketchy. It kinda smells and the bathrooms are really really bad too (unless they've redone it since Sept 09).
I looked all over for Logan's christening and ended up in Smithtown @ the American Legion on Juniper. It was under $400 and we had the room/tables/chairs/kitchen all day. Clean, easy to deal with, kitchen is right next to party room, etc.
