Vineyards
I know that there are two different vineyards out east --- is there one that is closer to Hampton Bays?

the south fork is closer to the Hamptons

Re: Vineyards
North fork and the south fork are very close together miles wise. We went to Palmers Vineyard last weekend on the North Fork after going to get pies at Briermeres and then went to the south fork and had dinner. No more than 10-15 minutes away.

To visit the South Fork wineries (The Hamptons Wine Trail) proceed on the LIE to exit #71. At the end of the off-ramp turn right in a south-easterly direction along Rt. 24 to Rt. 27. Proceed east on Rt. 27 into the Towns of Water Mill and Bridgehampton, following the winery signs. Here is a useful site LINK

UGH...honestly...that is a PITA of a drive IMO...
I usually will go to one or the other
ETA...and that 15 min drive is more like 40 min from Memorial day - Labor Day
sometimes longer

Re: Vineyards
Thanks! I think we are staying in Hampton Bays for a bachlorette party and I thought it would be nice to go to the vineyards during the day.

Re: Vineyards
If you're going to be in Hampton Bays and want to go to Duck Walk you are most likely going to be sitting in ALOT of traffic... not sure what the traffic is like going to the North Fork. I live in Southampton and I dread going anywhere on the weekends in the summer...it's CRAZY... it used to take me 10 min. to get to my DHs work, takes 30-40 min. easily on a weekend

Same traffic on the North Fork...
which is why it is best to go to one side or ther other...
