Visiting a friend with sick child while preggers
This weekend we are supposed to visit friends. I just found out one of their kids has strep and is on antibiotics. I am concerned about staying with them over the weekend on the off chance that the infection has spread to other members of the family and has not yet manifested but could still be contagious. What would you do? Am I being paranoid?

If the child is on antibiotics for 3 days then the infection should not spread. However anything that the child touched in the house needs to be completely disinfected. To be honest I am not sure I would chance it.

i would not go. just postpone it for a week untill you know everyone else in the house is free and clear of strep.

I wouldn't go b.c you don't know if the parents or anyone else in the family will have caught it - they might be carrying it and not showing symptoms yet - Not sure what the incubation period is for strep but I think it is something like a week. So even if the child isn't contagious someone else might be.
