Visiting Santa?

Any tips. We are planning on going to Santaland at Macy's herald sq. next monday when they open. I'm hoping that will lessen the line/wait time since its a Monday morning. I'm bringing my iPhone so DS can play with it but I'm still stressed. He is 23 months with PDD-NOS.

DS is almost 4, also has PDD-NOS, and he has never agreed to sit on Santa's lap. I don't know that this is a PDD-NOS thing (though I could see many kids might be less comfortable), but he just doesn't want to sit with him. He will look at him, but sitting, no.

You could try sitting or standing near Santa with DS, that might help. Also, I like some of the Santa's at local nurseries such as Hicks. he's a skinny Santa, but low key, and I've found the waits aren't as long as in the malls.

I'd also talk about who you are going to see in advance, and maybe show a picture so DS has some idea of what you are doing.

Re: Visiting Santa?

We had DS sit on DH's lap. He was super awesome. The elf who was taking the pics though, kept taunting him with a jingle bell and after a little bit it upset DS. So we got 2 pics: the nice and the naughty. lmao

Re: Visiting Santa?

It's one of those things you never know until your there. My 2 year old (typcial) is so afraid of Santa, loves him on tv but the real one-forget it. Where as my 3 year old (PDD) could care less.
