Vocabulary Word a day
I want to do vocabulary "word a day's" with my high school resource room students, but the website I signed up with, is way too advanced for them! Any suggestions on where I could get this information? Thanks so much!

visit amazon. The series that I have goes up to 6+. It's Evan Moor's Word of the Day. But they also have calendars from which you can get words.

Are they taking the Regents? I would use Regents words (non content area). Just look through old regents and see what words they may not know. I found many of my 9th graders taking Living Environment didn't know words such as "structure" and "function". Also, the English Regents will have plenty of vocabulary words. These tend to be the words that are more frequently used in their own lives, so it will be more meaningful for them to know them. You can even give Regents questions with the words in them so they can practice using them.
