volunteer jobs in the mental health / counseling field?
I am in a predicament. I have a masters degree in forensic psych but am not licensed. I am having the hardest time finding a job and I think it's because of my lack of experience. Does anyone know of any mental health/ counseling facilities that will hire volunteers? At this point I'm willing to work for free if it means it will help me in the long run. TIA

I'm not sure what type of setting you are looking for but Madonna Heights is always looking for volunteers or part-time Emergency Social Workers.
It's a residential treatment center for adolescent girls in Dix Hills. I used to work there. It will always have a special place in my heart and I will always remember those kids. They're not "bad" kids---they've just been through some tough experiences. They will give you a ton of experience!

Check out FEGS. According to their website, they bring on volunteers/interns. www.fegs.org
I knew a lot of MSW students who did their internships through them in grad school and ended up gaining employment out of it.
