Volunteering at the animal shelter

is harder than I thought it would be!

There are soo many sad stories that I've run across in just two months. Today I saw the most neglected poodle ever. It was awful!

They also run a free spay/neuter clinic, which I've helped at. The condition some of these animals come in just makes me so sad!

Overall, it has been very rewarding and I am very glad that I've decided to spend my time there, but some stories just break your heart.

Good for you! I was going to volunteer at our local shelter too, but I think I would come home with dog everyday...

I always wanted to do this and thought more about it since I lost my maltese a few months ago, but I am afraid that I am going to get so upset and sad. Can I ask where you volunteer and what made you pick one place to volunteer over another? Thanks.

How wonderful of you to give your time.

Cindy

That's the biggest problem! Reminding myself I can't save them all or bring any home! Especially the kittens and puppies!
