Voting Against Something You Agree With Based on its Supporters Tactics?
So, where I live there's a proposition (I think that's what it called) that would extend something that was voted on like 5 years ago or something. I fully support it.
However, I'm voting against it due to the tactics of it's supporters, the worst being a guy who knocked on my door then tried to guilt me into signing the petition (which I signed) then after I told him I wasn't donating (suggested donation: $60!!) asking why I signed it then. I told him because he shoved it in my face and said my neighbors had signed it. Not ONCE did he say that I had to donate if I signed it (As I was signing he was telling me how much I should donate)! He then disgustedly said he's throw in a few dollars for me.
They have also called early Sunday morning and left a flyer on my car, both actions I disagree with.
So, I've decided to vote no, then e-mail them telling them exactly why I did. The thing will probably pass anyway, but I feel better *not* siding with them.
Am I the only one who thinks things like this?
