W2's ( tax paper question)
Isn't there a deadline that we are supposed to get them by? I am getting very pizzzed ,I wan't to get them done but my job hasn't sent me my w2's yet

They have to mail them either by Jan 31st or Feb 1st I believe.
But there is also a new law that says some companies can wait until Feb. 15th. I forget why exactly.
I know because I got a letter from Charles Schwab saying I won't get theirs until Feb 16th-17th.

My job gives mine with the Jan 31st paycheck, which I think many companies do.
I already got most of my 1098s in the mail from all the banks I have accounts with. I just know the Schwab will be delayed. I think they said it had something to do with all the new Stimulus laws or something like that.

They don't give mine with my check anymore they send it home . I see what you are saying about the stimulus thing ! I really need to do this ASAP so I hope they get here soon

Mine always have had the total and YTD # for everything so I thought they all did.

we got paperwork from the IRS that says we must mail them to employees by Feb 1, 2009. which means you can get it later then that.
Lots of people are in a rush this year for many reasons, but by law they are not required to provide it any sooner.
If your company uses a payroll company you should have it pretty quickly though.

I only get a paycheck, no stub. every company is different

Not that I know of. I think you can report them through the IRS and maybe they would fine them, but its highly doubtful, and very hard to prove.

I felt so bad for the employees, a bunch called yelling at us, and we had to tell them to speak with their boss, since they had not given us they stuff to DO the W2's thankfully they are not our clients this year
