Are first response not a good test to take - is it better to have high HCG or Low???

Huh? First response have always worked well fo rme. Hcg is the pregnancy hormone not sure if thats what your asking? For pregnancy tests you want the test to be as sensitive as possible. FRER measures around 25 miu which emans you could get a positive earlier.

First response is a good test to take however its hit or miss if you test too soon before a missed period. It claims 25miu but has been inconsistent for many. If you go on some of the baby boards that have pics for some reason it doesnt always live up to its claim of giving you a BFP sooner than some of the cheapies

The "problem" I have with some of super sensitive tests is that they will give you a BFP very early. The thing I don't like about that is that there is always a chance it won't stick, especially early on. I would rather have a less sensitive test because I prefer the presence of more hormones reflecting a more secure BFP. If it doesn't stick and is going to disappear within the first couple days, I would rather not even know about it because it would depress me. Just my opinion.
On the other hand, if I was having fertility issues or was TTC for over 6 months with no results, I WOULD want to know as early as possible because it could lead to important information in treatment. So, I guess the more sensitive the better in the long run even if it my cause me a little depression here and there.

Re: Wait a second...
I had a chemical last month and had I not tested early I would never had known that my progesterone levels may be too low and possibly kept TTC and eventually get frustrated and sad. This one may not stick but this time I will take the progesterone and if it doesnt work then we can start looking at other issues-so for me testing early was a positive thing-since it identified a possible problem.
Good LUck
