Waiting days between first and second beta before being told results
Has anyone had to wait four days between betas before being told results, even if the result is negative? I could see maybe a facility wants to see doubling of betas before they tell you if it is positive, but when a negative beta comes in, and one has to take four days of progesterone support for nothing and endure another blood draw, knowing the result is negative, is this the norm for facilities to do this?

If the first beta was negative, I can't imagine why they'd have you come for a 2nd. But yes, I do find it odd that they wouldn't tell you the results. I would definitely call to find out what is going on.

I know the result is negative. I will continue to take home tests every morning just for peace of mind.

I know the result is negative. I will continue to take home tests every morning just for peace of mind. I took myself off progesterone and everything. There is no way I am pregnant. I have never heard of this.
Only thing I can think is that your beta was super low (under 5) and that they wanted to see if it rose or dropped. That would be a chemical pregnancy if it dropped. I still think it's absurd for them to not give you your results. I would be fuming! Definitely call them today.

I had heard that my clinic did that....which I think is ridiculous. So did everyone else that I know who goes there and so far...we have all gotten our results on the same day. They are your results...insist on knowing the result NOW as you do not want to be on meds for no good reason.

I agree, I would definitely request to find out! I find out my beta within 12hrs or so of the bloodwork!

Me too. I'd go in for betas at 6:30 AM and they'd always call by lunchtime. I thought that was the norm for anxious TTC'ers. I think that their not calling you back was an oversight and it sounds like you'll have to call them for the results.
