Walking /running in Robeez
..is this bad? DD is 1 year and has been walking without shoes since 11mths. I am having terrible trouble getting her to leave her shoes on, she cries and cries. So I got her robeez and she will leave those on for awhile.
She is walking and "running" in them and I wondered if this is bad considering the girl at the stride rite store said she needed the little walkers with the ankle support.
What do you think?
The only other alternative for now is no shoes at all or let her cry. I just want her to be ready to wear something on her feet once the weather gets warmer and we can go outside.
Thanks

Re: Walking /running in Robeez
I've never heard of a need for ankle support from anyone who wasn't selling shoes. I think that being barefoot is best and robeez are second best when she needs to have her feet protected. She'll need real shoes if she is running somewhere where her feet could get cut.

Re: Walking /running in Robeez
Actually, I've done some research about this, and consulted with my ped, and when they start walking/running, it's essential that they have shoes that aren't TOO stiff or sturdy. The best thing is barefoot, so Robeez are actually as good as it gets because they are very free form, and as close to barefoot as you can get.
Here's an article on it:

I've heard the same-babies don't need ankle support.
My DD runs around in robeez all day too.
Is she outside with them?
I did read that robeez are for light outside use though.
From Robeez website
"Are Robeez shoes and booties suitable for wearing outside? Both shoes and booties are ideal for indoor and light outdoor use. Please note that Robeez products are not waterproof and should only be used in dry conditions when outdoors. Also, because Robeez products are made with genuine leather and suede, rough outside surfaces can wear them out prematurely. "
I dont' plan on getting my DD any "real" shoes anytime soon.

DD hates shoes! If i was in warm weather year round our Dh, myself and Gianna would be barefoot all the time, we all dislike socks and shoes.
BRing on the warm weather!!
