Wall mount TV help
So, we're planning on finally buying a flat TV today. We've only been talking about it for like 2 years now.
We want to mount it over our fireplace. Fireplace is decorative only, so heat is not an issue. Also, its very low, so the height won;t be an issue.
Someone on here posted a website for ordering the wall mounts? Does anyone know what it is?
Also, the next time my sisters boyfriend comes out, he said he would make an outlet behind the TV for us (he works as a contractor).
In the mean time, is it really bad to just tack the wire around the corner to the outlet we already have?
Thanks everyone!

Dh just installed one in our living room over the fireplace. We got our wall mount at BJ's.

these are nice and all but way overpriced.
monoprice is a ggreat site that provides the basics of a mount. The same mount you can buy at BJ's or Bestbuy, monoprice sell for a mere fraction of the price.
What type of mount, i would do a tilt mount. Even if you keep it straight, if you even need it to tilt, you can. I wouldn't worry about the mounts that pull out and turn as the radius and reach isn't worth it i rather my tv attached to the wall and not float...not with those mounts at least...
Let me know if you have any questions

I agree. I forgot how cheap monoprice.com is. I have purchased items from them as well.

I know bestbuy sells them too.
Not sure how you would do this, but make sure the wall can support the tv... our contractor put two add'l beams in when he put in new sheetrock to better support the weight.
