Wanna Help me find a Rug for my LR? (w/pics)
So...here are a couple pics. We need some more furniture like real end tables (these are cheap temporary ones).
I am also planning on getting some toss pillows for the sofa and chair. I think brown and red - just havent found ones I really like yet...
Anyway....I want to start looking for a rug. I think I want a red/tan rug that is solid in the middle and has some sort of border around it. I do not not think a totally patterned one would look good since the ottoman is in a pattern.
I haven't measured yet, but I think an 8x10 or 9x12 would look good. Trying to spend no more than $1500.
Any suggestions would be great!

I think you can do a pattern in there (btw, the room looks great).

i know you said you didn't want an all over pattern but i think the colors of these rugs would look great w/ the paint, FP and upholstered pieces. you can drape a solid throw (bugandy, green or chocolate) over ottomon and add a tray w/ ivory pillar candles to soften the pattern. from the pics, the ottoman fabric doesn't seem to be that bold so i think a patterened rug would really not clash.

You living room is beautiful!
I would stay away from repeating too much of the colors you already have in the room in your rug. I definitely think you need to introduce some new fresh color with the rug, so I like the first one you posted the most. I think red of some type is the way to go!
I had the best luck in Macy's. After searching for almost a year for the perfect rug, I found it there over the holidays '06. It is 9x12, i believe, and wool and we got a great deal on it.
I suggest you go there in person and take a look! The websites don't really give a good idea on the color and quality! Good luck!
