Want to hear a funny dream I had the other night? Talk about balancing baby and career....

Just to give you a picture of where I work:

I work for NS-LIJ Health system, but in a small building not connected to a hospital - it consists of about maybe 8 offices, 2 evaluation rooms, and a large conference type room. Across from my office were some empty offices that are sowly being filled by coworkers moving around

I dreamt the other night that one of those offices across from me was transformed into a makeshift hospital room... with a bed... but there were still boxes and stacks of papers and everything still all over the place, as if someone had to move their desk out of the way for the bed and had nowhere to put the papers. And that was my hospital room for delivering the baby!

so, I deliver the baby (little girl - btw - what I always dream about!) and then, I keep going back across the hallway to my office to do my work!!!!



I even have people coming to visit me to see the baby, and I have to move the papers out of the way for them to sit down!

What would Freud say about this one? I told my office this at our meeting (yes - the one where I found out my shower date!) and they were hysterical. My medical director was like - oh, good idea - that can be arranged!
