Want to start brainstorming for a trip to Disney - Need opinions -
Trying to decide when to plan the trip
April 2013 (during school break) when DS will be one month shy of 6 and DC#2 will be 6 months old
OR
October 2013 (no break from school - DS will be in 1st grade) when DS will be 6 1/2 yrs old and DC#2 will be 1 (or about to turn 1)
PROS & CONS for both.

I would never attempt to go to Disney during a school break. That place will be absolutely insane and you'll have to wait on extremely long lines. If you're okay with pulling DS out of school then I would definitely vote for October.

i wouldnt go during a school break, especially with a 6 month old!

Re: Want to start brainstorming for a trip to Disney - Need opinions -
We went during a school break in April 2 years ago (I have no choice - I'm a teacher!) and it really wasn't that bad at all.
As far as the age of the kids - I'm not really sure what's best. I do wonder if a 6 month old would be EASIER than a 1 year old since he/she would be more content sitting in the stroller, etc.
ETA: Is there a reason you have to go during the school break in spring 2013? Since you're willing to take your DS out of school in Fall - why not in Spring?

No, but of the times that he is off from school, I'd rather go in April. Also, October is when I REALLY want to go, but was more leary b/c DC#2 will be around 1 - was "afraid" he/she would be more difficult than around 6 mos.
I am leaning towards Oct - I mean DS will be in 1st grade, not like he is gonig to miss finals or SATs.

Hands down October. Less crowded, there is the halloween party, and your youngest will be old enough to enjoy it.

Going with a 1 yo is easier than with an infant. You will not have to worry about baby food, bottles, etc. It's much less for you to carry with you. DD was on table food by that point and all we had to bring was a sippy. We had a better time when DD was 15 months as opposed to 7 months. She was also more interactive and had more fun.

I was going to say the same thing about food!

We went the week of Columbus Day. The weather was amazing (after the monsoon we had the first day) and it wasn't too crowded. We also went to the Halloween party, which was fun.

IF you don't mind pulling your child from school I would say October hands down. April will be crazy with crowds, it will be much more expensive because it will be peak holiday period AND the baby will be 6 months.
Oct will be much quieter. You can do Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party. Fewer lines, more likely to get some sort of discount. Also the baby would be 1. DD#2 went on her 1st trip on her 1st birthday. She loved it. She was able to dance, clap and sing on the rides. While they won't remember a trip at 6 months OR at 1 - at least at 1 they will get more out of it and enjoy it more.
