Wantagh Train Station

I thought I might have some luck on the home board.

I have never commuted from here but wondering at what time I would have to be there to get a parking spot? I hear its tough?!

My DH used to live in Wantagh and drove to the Seaford station to get the train because parking at Wantagh was always filled when he went (around 8:30)
Seaford has a much bigger lot

I am in Bellmore..I take the 7:51 and get a spot. Not in the main lot but the side off shoot. I would say there are about 20 spots or so left after that train.

Seaford has the construction going on now so I would be careful going there. I don't know how many spots are taken up for that.

Re: Wantagh Train Station

Most of these parking lots are filled by 7:30 so if you catch an early train you're good.

I used to live in Bellmore and I think you need a permit to part in Wantagh, not sure. Bellmore has a huge lot, I used to always get a spot there.

I live in Wantagh and when DH has to take the train he always drives to Bellmore (unless he is getting a super early train)

Re: Wantagh Train Station

Thank you everyone! I can get a permit its just that Wantagh is so much closer to me I was hoping I could use this train but I'm thinking of catching it around 730.

Re: Wantagh Train Station

You can routinely get parking at this train station at least until 9-9:30am.

All you have to do is go east of the station and park right off Sunrise next to the tracks. There are usually spots available, you just have to walk.

I take the 8:09 when I'm running late (which is quite often) and i always get a spot at about 8am, it's just farther from the train station. There is always extra parking in the lot along Sunrise Hgwy too.

Ideally I should take the 7:48am which would get me into Penn at 8:40am so I could actually be on time for work !

For the 7:26 train I was usually in the lot by 7:20 and would get one of last few spaces in the lot off Wantagh Ave behind the stores. For the 7:48 I would go to the lot next to the fire station and would be ok until around 7:40. Any later and it was time to hoof it from Sunrise Hwy.
