Wanted a teacher's opinion on gifts

Most people at our nursery school give gifts in the $25-$30 range for the teachers and assistant teachers. Usually a gift card.

I recently picked up Vera Bradley umbrellas to give the teachers for Christmas/Hanukkah, and then money at the end of the year. They are usually about $32, I got them for $12.

I had planned to add a $15 Target gift card to them. But I was telling my friend today and she said I should just give the umbrella, because otherwise it will look like I spent closer to $50 which is way more than everyone else spends.

Would just the umbrella be ok?

I think just the umbrella is a very nice gift, and not something someone would buy for themselves, but something they would def use!

i think the umbrella is FINE! and it's vera bradley, which is usually expensive. i think it's more than enough... and i would definitely appreciate it it were me... i love vera and i always need an umbrealla!

oh, and as an aside...where to you find VERA umbrellas for only $12????
